From Gwen

Subject: Nystantin

I would like to know if anyone has used nystantin with the rotation diet for extended periods of time. (longer than 90 days) When I was taking the nystantin my symptoms, chronic cough, was almost gone. My doctor would not renew my prescription. With the diet alone my cough has returned.

Subject: Child on Candida Diet

I am interested to hear from anyone who has a child on this diet. My 9 year old son suffers from ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), and Anxiety Disorder. I recently took him to a Homeopathic doctor who did Iridology on him discovering he is quite "off balance" and has much mucus built up in parts of his body...thus putting him on this diet. We are only on day 2 and I am exhausted already trying to be creative with the limited foods. Previously, he ate a lot of processed foods, sugar, etc. As an adult, I think I could handle this diet and get used to it. But, try to tell a 9 year old kid he can't have a hot dog at a ball game, or cake at a birthday party, or a slurpee on a hot day! I have put away all foods he can't have to avoid the fight of what he can and can't have. If anyone out there is in the same boat as us or has any good suggestions, please share. Also, does anyone know how to get an actual "allergy test" to show which specific food(s) are causing problems?

Thanks!

I know how hard it is, my daughter is almost 3yrs. I found incoaperating herbs and spices useing indian, african or arab dishes very helpfull. I use a lot of vegetables and found the new dishes she liked. I've also found educating her on how foods make us look and feel better very helpful also. example is if I made vegetable curry and brown rice with avacado salad, I explain how carrots will give her good skin and eye sight how brown rice has B vitamins and magnesium and what that does to help her body. I hope I could help. (Amina)

Subject:

  • sore throat
  • sore tongue
  • pains in ears
  • difficulties swallowing

For 5 weeks now I have suffered sore throat, sore tongue pains in ears, difficulties swallowing. I was given two separate courses of antibiotics to clear the problem, but they have made me worse. I have back to my GP and Hospital but to no avail.

At present as soon as I drink fluids I can feel movements in my throat and ache in my ears and constant burping I have started on Probiotics and Acidopolis caps a week now. I also itch around both groins and gets athletes foot often.

Could you please advise me as to whether it might be Candida.

Many thanks,

From: Holly,

Subject: Colonics

Is there anyone who can tell me about colonic irrigation? I have been fighting Candida for about nine months and although my diet and supplements seem to be keeping it in check, I cannot get rid of it. I do not seem to be any nearer getting better than I was six months ago. A friend told me that I needed to have colonic irrigation to get rid of the impacted candida in the bowel. Has anyone tried this and did they feel any better?

Emotional problems can keep candida covered in corners of your body and no medicin or diet can touch it. You need to get in touch with those emotions (try a holistic therapist, it helped me) to get the candida uncovered so you can kill it with the diet and medicins (homeopatic worked fine for me). (Poppekop)

(2) Reply to Holly: Re Colonics.
I can recommend colonics if they are done properly. It certainly is possible to clean the colon and remove all the candida.

In severe cases it grows like a yeasty fungus with long threads which penetrate through the colon into other tissues. See the colonic websites below:

The best Colon Hydrotherapy clinic is the Healthy Detox Clinic in Guisborough, Cleveland. TS14 6PR. (01287) 635 635. Ask for Polly. This clinic uses the wonderful German machine called Habamat that regulates the water flow pressure and temperature, and prevents overfilling the colon. I found it very comfortable and gentle. Of course you still need the correct diet, so stick with Pams rotation diet and food choice. Also read "Live Right For Your Type" by Dr Peter Dadamo. If you know your blood type this book is a miracle worker!
Good luck, (Ken)

(3) Reply to Holly: Re Colonics.
I went for colonics because of my Irritable Bowel Syndrome which was ruining my life. It was then the therapist told me about the candida. I had never heard of this before but for the past 3 weeks I have been following the diet and am feeling alot better. I have has one colonic since then and am going back in amonth cos I beleive it really works. (Carla)

Subject: Steriod and Candida

Hi there,

I am just about to start on the anti candida diet. I currenly use a steriod treatment on my scalp (for dry scalp) and was wondering if i can continue to use this, as it is not taken internally - (it's a lotion I massage in) - or will it hindrance my recovery?

I would be very very grateful for anyone's comments!

How about recipe suggestions for anti-candida diet for a VEGAN. Pure protein eggs, chicken, etc. are obviously out.

Hi Mike,

I recently made "pasta" noodles out of carrot strips that I made with a peeler. Parboil them for twenty or thirty seconds and you have a perfect bed of orange "noodles" for some tomato sauce!

Best wishes,
Kathi

Hi Mike,

There are a variety of grains which you can prepare such as quinoa, millet, amaranth and buckwheat.I know that quinoa is a complete protein.there's a book called "The Body Ecology Diet" which has some recipes in it and is about candida. Its written by Donna Gates. I've found it to be informative but also very strict in terms of what you can eat. From what I've seen you've got your work cut out for you if you want to stay vegan.

Best of Luck!

Hi Mike, I am also a Vegan. I was on the Candida diet for 14 months. No gluten, no fruit. This was hard for a Vegan. I limited my nuts also. Be cautious with cashews. I seemed to take that long to heal my leaky gut. I am adding spelt and oats and fruit back now. Still on my journey. My breakfasts consisted of cooked quinoa (soak it overnite and rinse well as it has a bitter hull), buckwheat (both grains are highly nutritious but may reqiure getting used to), millet, & millet/cornmeal combo. Soak sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds overnite and rinse well to add to the cereal. I was able to tolerate carob powder and coconut to help sweeten it. Also try the herb Stevia. It comes in powder, tincture and green dried herb. It leaves a slight after-taste tho. I was fortunate as I got used to no need of a sweetener. I am sprouting my seeds now for extra nutrients. you will need to rinse them well but may need to wait to add them as they may be higher in molds in the earlier stages of your cleanse. I needed to be careful with potatoes, carrots, corn (fresh), and squashes. I found quinoa flakes at a specialty store and used them for zucchini sunflower seed patties in place of oats to hold them together. Lots of raw salads (avocado, peppers (all colours), cucumber, fennel, parsley etc. I used fresh lemon, basil, and stevia (liquid tincture) for dressing. I found organic corn tortillia chips(Que Pasa from B.C.) and made a chick pea dip to go with them~ Blended chick peas (garbanzos) in lemon and water (small amount), added chopped peppers, red onion, parsley, onion powder and sea salt also mash avocado and add lemon, peppers and red onion for another dip. I tolerated chick peas but other beans required a better digestive system than what I was dealing with so I omited them until now. Steamed veggies for supper and rice pasta. Tamale casserole~cornmeal, canned tomatoes, chopped onion, olives, seasonings. It is a VERY simple diet but did work for me. If you need any of the specifics to the recipes let me know. I am not sure how this message board works I just fell into it!!
